High School “Class of” designs by ArtLab T-Shirts

At ArtLab we do a lot of school work and every graduating class wants to have their own design. Often times a student’s hand drawn artwork is presented to us as the art for the shirt. ArtLab‘s art department then scans and converts the student’s art to a vector format so that we can separate the colors and output films to make our screens. Each color printed has a separate screen and must be lined up perfectly with the other print colors to achieve the end result. Here is a one color, for Melbourne Central Catholic High School, and a two color example, for Palm Bay High School, of such shirt designs.

Melbourne High School Senior Class 2012 & ArtLab T-Shirts

In this blog we are featuring a design printed for Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida. The front design was picked from submitted student artwork. ArtLab‘s art department received a marker drawing in color and had to change it to vector art for printing. Our art director Matt Ginsberg is tops at converting designs to vector format. The back design is a roster of all the Melbourne High School graduating seniors, along with class song, class motto etc. ArtLab T-Shirts & Graphic Services ended up printing 480 of these on a Jerzees 29M Black 50/50 tee shirt.

ArtLab does Political work too

ArtLab Spokesdogs celebrating Birthdays in February!

Tigger and Elvis, the official spokesdogs for ArtLab T-Shirts & Graphic Services, are both celebrating birthdays this month. Tigger turned twelve on Sunday the 12th and her nephew Elvis (sister Coot’s boy) will turn nine on Sunday the 26th. Tigger originally came to us from Puddle Duck Labs as gratitude for re-designing an ailing logo. Her nephew Elvis joined us a few years later when her Mom Coot sent him to stay with Auntie Tigger for awhile. He liked it here so much, he never went home. Both dogs have officially retired from every day work at the shop and are now enjoying their days at home in Melbourne.

Happy Birthday Tigger and Elvis!! Good doggies!!

ArtLab Screen Printed Coroplast Yard Signs

Many businesses advertise with what is called Yard Signs or Snipe Signs. ArtLab T-Shirts and Graphic Services can provide such signs for you. These are inexpensive, and printed on 4mm corrugated plastic, also called coroplast. The usual size is 18″ x 24″ and you see them advertising events, business and politicians on street corners everywhere. If you need a lot of signs the most economical method is screen printed. Each color has a different screen so these are usually restricted to a one or two color prints. Sometimes you may not need many signs or need a sign with a lot of color, in that case digitally printed signs are the best choice. Digital signs have no color restrictions and can even be photographic in nature. Here are two examples of coroplast signs one screen printed and one digital.

ArtLab to Co-Sonsor Space Coast Craft Beer Festival

ArtLab T-Shirts & Ultimate Frisbee in Palm Bay!

At ArtLab T-Shirts today, we finished and are delivering, 180 T-Shirts for the 15th Annual Presidential Plastic Platter Hatter. The PPPH15 is an Ultimate Frisbee tournament held annually at Palm Bay Regional Park, in Palm Bay, Florida. The two color full chest print was done on 12 different color tees.
